1st Trimester Aneuploidy Screen: [11 weeks, 1 day – 13 weeks, 6 days]
This test combines ultrasound measurement with a finger stick blood test. The two tests together detect 90% of cases of Down Syndrome and 97% of Trisomies 18 and 13.
NTD Laboratories processes the bloodwork. Click here for more information.

Ultrasound Screening for Fetal Abnormalities: [after 18 weeks]
Up to 3% of all babies born at term congenital abnormalities. Ultrasound examination can detect fetal brain abnormalities, spina bifida, heart defects, kidney abnormalities, cleft lip and club foot among many others.

Amniocentesis: [Genetic and for Lung Maturity]
During amniocentesis a small amount of amniotic fluid is removed from the uterus for testing. Amniotic fluid can be tested to detect a chromosome abnormality like Down syndrome or a genetic disease like cystic fibrosis. Later in pregnancy amniotic fluid can be tested to determine whether or not the baby’s lungs are mature.

Non-Stress Test: [after 28 weeks]
A non-stress test is a safe, painless way to check on your baby’s well-being near the end of pregnancy.
The baby’s heart rate is recorded for 20-30 minutes. Normal baby’s usually have an increase in heart rate in response to movment.

Biophysical Profile: [after 32 weeks]
Biophysical profile combines ultrasound assessment of fetal activity with non-stress test.
